I celebrate Juneteenth with you today. Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced slavery had been abolished – more than two years prior. The news brought celebrations within the community that just realized its freedom. The day symbolizes freedom, resilience, and the continued struggle for civil rights. www.startribune.com/metro-briefs-brooklyn-park-declares-juneteenth-a-city-holiday/600225029/In 2022, I was proud to be part of the Brooklyn Park City Council as we recognized Juneteenth as a paid holiday for our city employees. I am proud of how the legacy continues as the city's commemorative event grows. Our district [38A] is so diverse. It is an asset. I embrace our unique diversity, and I do the same for you. I honor our varied perspectives while keeping the lessons from our past at the forefront. There is still much work to do to build a more equitable future for our community. I am committed to continuing the work toward a more inclusive community. See MoreSee Less

What matters is what the community in 38A wants and needs in their next State House Representative. Wynfred doesn't seek political endorsements from individuals who can't vote for him. He takes pride in being endorsed by the community, which speaks volumes about his continued commitment. He's now received the support and endorsement of our community's firefighting union, which means everything to him. He has stood with them in the past as a City Council Member and will continue to support our first responders at the legislature. Now he asks for your support in the primary with early voting starting in Friday, June 28th at Brookly#endorsedbycommunity##russellforhousei#experiencematterse#firstrespondersers #firstresponders See MoreSee Less
